Scholarship and Award Opportunities

Does your school or organization offer scholarships or awards to deserving dental assistants or dental assisting students? Please notify Bettie Rogers with any information so that we may post it on this website.

The SCDAA presents awards every year to deserving dental assistants. All nominees must be an active or life member of the SCDAA with current membership to be elligble.

The following awards are presented by this assocation annually:

1. Dr. Walker H. Garrison Memorial Achievement Award -

presented to the member who has done the most outstanding work for the SCDAA and for dental assistants.

2. Earline Cromley Richardson Memorial Achievement Award -

presented to a local society member who, in the opinion of fellow members and judges, has done an outstanding job within the society.

3. The Betty Drawdy Gleaton Memorial Achievement Award -

presented to the person or persons (society) who, in the opinion of the judges, has provided the most outstanding contribution in a

community involvement presentation.

4. Myrl Blackwell Memorial Loyalty Award -

presented to the nominated member who has worked the longest continuous years with the same employer.
